ORAL EXAMINATION / ASSESSMENT
The initial visit will begin with a comprehensive dental hygiene exam. The Dental Hygienist will go through your medical and dental history, as well as with an assessment of your oral hygiene care at home. Once all the information has been collected, the hygienist will discuss with you a personalized treatment plan. This will ensure specific goals will be set to achieve optimal oral health care .
SCALING/DEBRIDEMENT

Debridement/Scaling is the removal of soft
(plaque) and hard (tarter) deposits from the teeth above and below the gum line. If the plaque and tarter is left untreated it can cause gingivitis and can lead to irreversible periodontitis, which can lead to tooth loss. The removal of plaque, calculus and bacteria is the best way to maintain healthy teeth and gums.
FLUORIDE APPLICATION
Fluoride aids in the prevention of decay and sensitivity by strengthening the enamel of the teeth and aids in the remineralization process. Fluoride varnish is directly applied on the teeth.
This will ensure to keep your teeth healthy and clean!
DENTAL SEALANTS

Dental sealants are thin plastic coatings placed over the chewing surfaces in the back teeth to protect them from developing tooth decay. Sealants cover the bumpy surfaces and crevices to keep food and plaque from getting trapped in spaces. Sealants are durable and protect chewing surfaces for months or even years to help ensure the perfect smile !
ORAL CANCER SCREENING
Oral cancer can be found in the lips, tongue, gums, cheeks, or lining of the mouth. During each exam the Dental Hygienist is trained to look for any signs of abnormalities. Regular visits is the best defense against oral cancer. Our professional team is here to guide our patients and their families in every step of the way.
CUSTOM SPORTS GUARD
Having custom made sports mouth guards can protect injuries to the head , teeth and jaw area. Custom made sports mouth guards are the most recommended option for all sport players. They are precisely made for optimal safety and comfort.

Our Mobile set up
Our Equipment:
At sparkling smiles we use a small portable compact dental unit that is brought directly to you. Our mobile unit includes a client chair, small quiet compressor, suction unit, light, instruments and polishers. Very minimal space is required.

Infection Control:
At sparkling smiles, infection control is a serious and important component of our standard of practice. All clinical procedures along with cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of equipment and instruments are performed with strict adherence to our infection control protocol developed from guidelines set out by the Centre for Disease Control and the Canadian Dental Association.
